Location Server

Mobile devices are used by people who are away from home or office, and most modern devices are capable of self-determining their location. The Location Server is the location based services component of the Mobile Storefront. It offers the following features and benefits.
- Store Finder
- Consumers use the store finder functionality to find the nearest store. Information presented to the user about a store can include the phone number and a click-to-call button, hours of operations, special features of the store, maps with directions to stores and even time sensitive information such as scheduled in-store product demonstrations.
- Inventory Lookup
- A common desire of mobile users is to find the nearest store that stocks an identified item. Using the product browsing or searching capability of a downloadable application or mobile web portal, a user can find the closest store location that stocks an item. This can be linked to a click-to-call capability to reserve the item at the store, or even to purchase the item on the device and pick it up at the store.
- Coupon
- The goal of any coupon program is to trigger a user to make a purchase. By linking coupons with location and other contextual items such product availability, an offer can be precisely targeted. This enables innovative scenarios like presenting a user with a coupon for a product at the nearest store that expires in one hour.
The Location Server is managed by Digby and hosted at an access-controlled Tier 1 hosting facility. The technology underlying the inventory lookup and coupon components is patent-pending.
